With major improvements in quality, Honor unveils the foldable Magic Vs

News Plus

Honor unveiled its new flagship foldable phone, the Magic Vs, which comes with significant improvements in manufacturing quality compared to the previous generation. In spite of the name it uses on the phone, Honor considers it a improvement, not a second generation.

A major Honor event is taking place in China over the next two days, and today it announced the most interesting phone, the Honor Magic Vs, which is lighter and thinner because it has been manufactured with better quality.

The Honor V boasts a new generation of joints that have improved in rigidity and flexibility, which allows the internal screen to be closed completely without a gap as in the first Honor V, as well as being lighter.

It features a 7.9-inch OLED foldable screen with a resolution of 2272 x 1984 pixels, a refresh rate of 90 Hz, and a brightness of up to 800 lumens.

As far as the internal display is concerned, it appears to be the same as the Magic V.

With a diagonal of 6.45 inches and a 2560 x 1080 pixel resolution, the external screen is also of the same type OLED. The refresh rate here is 120 Hz, HDR10 Plus is supported, and both screens are 10-bit, meaning they contain over a billion colors.

The phone will come with a light pen called Magic, which will communicate via Bluetooth with the device to provide multiple options.

It also mentioned that the internal folding screen will be practically non-wrinkled, since the new hinge is “carefully made with a one-piece processing technology” so instead of having 92 elements in the previous one, there are now only four elements while maintaining durability and flexibility.

Honor laboratories tested the hinge for more than 400,000 folds, or more than ten years of use at an average of 100 folds per day.

Specifications of the phone

Honor Magic Vs is powered by a first generation Snapdragon 8 Plus processor, despite having a newer generation of leading processors available, but it is still a good processor capable of delivering good performance.

A third option, which is cheaper, is available with 8 GB of random memory and 256 GB of storage space, in addition to two options for internal storage space, 256 or 512 GB.

Additionally, the Honor Magic Vs has three rear cameras, one with a 54-megapixel Sony IMX800 sensor, one with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, another with a 50-megapixel macro lens, and a third with an 8-megapixel telephoto zoom. Three times or more.

On the external screen, there is a 16-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.45 aperture, while on the internal screen, which should be used for group calls, there is no indication of the camera specifications.

This foldable phone’s battery is 5000mAh and supports fast charging at 66 watts, which will recharge it from 0 to 100% in 46 minutes.

With MagicOS 7.0, the phone uses the Android 12 operating system, but it uses the just-announced MagicOS 7.0 interface.

Price vs. Honor Magic

It will be available in three colors: orange, cyan, and black, as well as gold and black for phones with a higher memory capacity.

7499 Chinese Yuan is the price of the 8/256 GB version (equivalent to $1050).
$1120 for 12/256 GB.
$1,260 is the cost of the highest version, 12/512 GB.

It is currently available for pre-order in Chinese markets, and it will begin shipping on November 30, before reaching global markets in the first quarter of 2023.
